READING

I am stuck on this thought: People need to read the old stuff not the new. I firmly believe history has been and is being manipulated to accommodate lies; this includes the Bible. In addition the need for common sense is decreasing amongst far to many people. The lack of education and rational thinking is what makes an ignorant individual.
In my previous blog, THE HABIT OF READING, I shared that I am a slow reader. I admit that I have been reading one book for years but I am still reading. The books I am reading challenge my beliefs, upon conclusion of a sentence, paragraph or chapter, I have to decide if I agree or disagree and what am I going to do with this information. I rarely read fiction, very rarely; I read Pilgrims Progress and plan to read Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 (KJV)
9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

Let me take a few liberties with 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 to make a point about reading. The Apostle writes: “for ye yourselves are taught of God”; he is writing not posting on YouTube. And, in verse 11, he writes: “study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands,” Our goal is to learn how to do what God has called us to do not what “they” say we should be doing. Contrary to the opinions of many “church” leaders, our goal is to “love one another” (vs 9) living a life that represents Yahovah Eloheem -I now put 1 Thessalonians back in context- not get stuff that makes our life easier.
God will give you what you need, not what you want. See: Matthew 6:33, 1 Thessalonians 4:12, and Philippians 4;19.
I was out of town for 4 days and I was able to watch people. It is amazing how many rude people where crosses around their necks. I also listened to a “church” service and heard, with my own ears, the speaker tell the congregation to not make their children come to church; that is not what Scripture teaches.The Bible speaks of taking up your cross (Matthew 16:24, Mark 8:34, 10:21, Luke 9:23) knowing that we are going to have problems, tribulations (Romans 5:3-5, 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10). Wearing a cross, or even having one tattooed on your body does not prevent you from receiving the mark of the beast later on. In my travels I saw quite a few rude people wearing crosses.
As a believer we must go to God’s word not man’s reinterpretation of His word. I am having difficulty reading authors like Chuck Missler, Dr Peter S Ruckman, Charles Spurgeon and even Watchman Nee, because they challenge what I was taught for decades. True Bible teachers don’t have big titles they have great love for God and they lead people to God’s word not stuff. Churches that promote getting things that will make your life easier on earth are leading you to an eternity of misery. You cannot take a sexy body, beautiful home, luxurious car or lavish vacations into eternity.
Yahovah Eloheem did not command you to get stuff on this earth. “For ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another… “that ye may walk honestly toward them that are without,” Father God will give you what you need if you obey His word.
In addition to studying God’s word I am also studying history, which is why Uncle Tom’s Cabin is on my reading list. For years I thought being an Uncle Tom was a bad thing and then I heard someone say he was a good man who happened to be a slave. I am actively reading THE IRON TRIANGLE by Vince Everett Ellison, I listen to him on YouTube. Mr. Ellison’s words agree with what my common sense told me to be so, in order to get more details I am reading his book which contains the references.
I want you, the reader, to understand where I am going with this blog. If you are not a reader then this is not for you, if you are a seeking of information PLEASE COMMENT. I want to move forward and discuss how Christians can live in this world however learning takes more than 15 minutes, it takes studying, meditating, praying and common sense. I am on “X” but that is not studying neither is Facebook. This blog is composed of the THOUGHTS OF MARSHA and today I want to know why people stopped reading.
