THE 60’S LIFE

I am not one for denying my age, though certain things catch me off guard. Somethings we expect: females experience menopause, we all get gray hair, but when it happens it gives one reason to pause. I will not deny that my body is getting older, in fact I tell people “I have earned my age”. I have survived decades of life and that is reason to celebrate.
We should not stop living when we turn 60, 70, 80 or even 90 but there are some adjustments that we should make. Because we should have develop a level of maturity, that we did not have a decade ago, we should also be more purposeful in our actions. When we reach a certain age our lives should become more purposeful not frivolous.
I started a new vlog series: “THE 60’S LIFE”. This idea came when I was once again awake four hours after I had gone to sleep. It was clear that my sleep pattern had changed. Has this have anything to do with my getting older? This idea lead to my contemplating other changes I noted since I became, 60 plus. I want to talk about these experiences, hopefully I will hear from other 60-plusers.
For me turning 60 was when I decided to make some major life adjustments. I decided to take responsibility for my health: physically, financially, emotionally and even spiritually. I do not consider it a mid-life crisis, I am not panicking about getting older, it is a necessary life adjustment.
I could have started a vlog about the “50’s life” and talked about the same thing but there is an urgency once a person turns 60. Many of my 60 plus friends are introspective around this time, and they are not as quick to respond to life as they once were. The adjustments many of us make at this age are corrective and or strategic, at least they should be.
