DAY 7: NaNoWriMo

Obviously I did not write yesterday (Day 6 of my NaNoWriMo challenge), I thought about writing but it was Sunday and I do have my Sunday activities. The reality is writers may not write every day but they still write.
Waking up I know it was good that I did not write because my head is busting with ideas, some of which I have already forgotten! When I come up with ideas they are usually in the form of a sentence, for example: Men have allowed women to lead them when they really should be the leaders.
I have several journal type entry books in which I manually input ideas and such. I have a personal journal that is like a diary but not as detailed with personal data as a traditional diary would be. I have a Bible verse journal, as I read Scripture if a verse captures me I write it in this book and may add a thought or two about it. And, I have a thought journal, for example: the headline on one page is “Condition to find fault”, there is no entry on that page but at some point I will go back and elaborate, write about, that concept. There is always something for me to write about I just have to be in that mindset to write it.
In the morning before my day has begun ideas come to my mind, thoughts in the form of Scripture, hymns or thoughts about a particular person. When a name comes up I pray about that person- words not written. If I get to pen and paper right away I can write things down if not the actual words leave me but the essence of what I was thinking do not. As I pray about it throughout the day the words come back, maybe not the exact words but what I need to say. Thus I can write all day, though I am not always sitting in front of my laptop, a few words here and a few words there. Thousands of words are released onto the laptop screen if I just sit down and write.
Faith is important to me. I don’t know how other writers do it but I am always talking to my heavenly Father, I am always listening to Him, for Him.
Isaiah 55:6-8 (KJV)
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

I have not memorized a lot of Bible verses but I know quite a few. When I write verses come to mind and that is how I know I am on the right track. I wrote “I am always listening to Him, for Him.” And the verse came to mind: seek the Lord while He may be found So I used my Bible program to look up the actual Scripture and found Isaiah 55:6 but I was also reminded of verse 8.
His, God’s, thoughts are not like man’s nor are His ways like man’s. I don’t do things like others do because I am lead by the Holy Spirit. As I write that I suspect that many readers have now discredited my as a writer
I write because it is what God requires of me and I know most of the people in this world have a different concept of who God is and how He does things. “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” we are all wrong; that is how I see things.
Sunday I watched 3 church services, as has been my practice for over six months now, up from one, after an early meal there was time to write I chose not to. I worked on my 500 piece jigsaw puzzle and watched television. All of which I enjoyed in the company of my faince.
It is important that writers interact with people face to face. As humans we need that interaction.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (KJV)
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Some people see this as a commandment to go to church, I do not. I see the above verse as advice, “let us consider” to get together with people who share the same values as we do. Church is not the only place in which we can assemble. Church is not a place to learn about God’s will. When I think about “assembling of ourselves” I think of a time of socializing. (It is important to note that there are people who do socialize during church service. “Let the women keep silence!” 1 Corinthians 14:34) I do fellowship with like believers and I am do not object to church attendance but I am not fixated on church attendance.

My passion is following Jesus the Son of God my gift from God is writing. Gods thoughts and ways are not like man’s thoughts and ways therefore I do not feel obligated to do things the way “they” say do them. This is day seven of National Novel Writing Month and I am now going “all in”. I am proceeding to doing things the way I do them which means very few if any people will continue reading what I am writing.
If you have read every entry since day one, thank you. What you can expect from here on out are words based on the concept that Christian Writers write too!

I am an active participant of National Novel Writing Month- these entries are unedited on purpose- Marsha L Floyd
