DAY 21 NaNoWriMo Time for me to move on

A decision has been made, I am no longer participating in NaNoWriMo. I have reached a point in my writing in which I want to focus on quality and not quantity, I do not want to wait until after the writing marathon to edit but want to and have been editing as I go.
Yesterday, Sunday, I wrote over 2 thousand words. It is now 1 AM, Monday morning and I am writing. It is the most productive writing I have had all month. I did not start writing until Sunday evening and have watched a movie and took a writing break and sewed for about an hour. I think because I gave myself permission not to focus on the goals but to just write it relieved me of some of the self imposed pressure.
I am watching a church service and it occured to me that I really don’t need to participate in NaNoWriMo and in fact I don’t want to. It is going to take me more than 30 days to finish writing what I am writing now thus the “writing marathon” has become irrelevant to me.
National Novel Writing Month is a group project and as I wrote before writing is an alone activity. I really am done!
My word count: 25,240

I am an active participant of National Novel Writing Month- these entries are unedited on purpose- Marsha L Floyd
