National Novel Writing Month, NaNoWriMo, is a secular event I don’t think of it that way but I should. I am not writing Christian Fiction but Bible based non-fiction, I need to focus on understanding Scripture.
1 Timothy 4:10-11 (KJV)
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 These things command and teach.
The more I write the more I realize I am struggling because NaNoWriMo is indirectly restraining my writing process. I cannot write using secular methods, though I think National Novel Writing Month is a great exercise in the practice of the discipline of writing it is not a Spirit lead process.
Psalm 25:4-5 (KJV)
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
It is important that anyone who wants to right based on Scripture must follow the teachings of God, doing those things as the Spirit guides. Christian writers are separated from worldly ways.
John 17:16-17 (KJV)
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
