DAY 29 EDITING – not NaNoWriMo

Is editing biblical? Of course it is! Do prophets get it wrong? Yep! I have seen videos of how modern day Jewish Scribes copy the Torah by hand, if he or she makes a mistake, it is corrected before it is released for use. Maturity is something many men and women who step out to serve lack.

1 John 4:1-3 (KJV)
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

A person called to be a Prophet may not understand how the Holy Spirit flows through them. I have noticed immature servants try to be like a man or woman of God that is admired. I have also seen leaders try to train a servant to be like them and not like Jesus. These people are labled “false Prophets” because they speak according to the flesh and not according to the Word of God.

When writing the word must agree with Scripture. Each Bible verse should be reviewed to make sure that the context in which it was released in the manuscript agrees with the context in which it was written in the Bible.

I used to review books written by Christian writers. I have given bad reviews because the authors words did not agree with Scripture. I remember one author stated that his deceased wife helped him write the book- I did not recommend the book and threw my copy in the trash. I can tell when an author is using a church leaders interpretation of Scripture rather than the actual context because nothing makes sense’ he or she may use part of a Bible verse to prove a point however, when I read what is written with the entire verse the insert is inappropriate.
Having written a novel I can tell you that writing a biblically based manuscript requires much prayer and research. Our responsibility is to the reader and we answer to the Creator. I hate editing but I do it.

But of course, since I was in the middle of National Novel writing Month – none of this is edited!
