DAY 30 OF NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH – NOW WHAT?

Well I did complete 30 post though on Day 21 I wrote two post and nothing on Day 23. In addition, On Day 27 I wrote post for days 28, 29 and 30 (which is today). Now what?

My plan is to compile the 30 entries and convert it to an ebook. But, what I have really been doing is compiling a series of writings that I have done in the past and what I have been writing these past 30 days in order to produce the manuscript that I really want to write.
What I discovered during this writing journey is my gifting and my passion: Christian Women’s issues as it relates to everyday life. I have more than 50 thousand words that I need to rewrite, edit, categorize in some type of order and then compile into manuscript form. Much of it will be released on my blog however I have yet to decide which blog I am going to make my only blog.
If you have followed me this far because you want to be a writer the one thing you must fully comprehend: writing is the easy part. What do you do with all of those words?
If you decided you want to publish then you should have begun your search for an agent a long time ago. I have read it takes years to find an agent. Because you are an unknown writer you will not make much money even if a publishing house agrees to publish your work. Be very careful if you decide to self publish I belong to a writing group on Facebook and I belong to a publishing group (I forget the name) and their suggestions saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
Either way, if you plan on marketing your book the traditional way be ready to work, be able to travel and expect rejection. If you belong to a mega-church then you will probably have good sells if the Pastor mentions your book. The reality: People do not read much and they do not spend big bucks on an unknown author. Let me clarify this: sugar coated faith books will sell better than non-nonsense this is what the Word states Christian books.
I have not sold thousands of books but I have sold books. I am more interested in getting people to read my blog post than my books. I have some name recognition but not a lot and my subject matter is not of interest to most women which is my target audience. I do what I do because I believe this is what God wants me to do and if I help one woman it is worth the effort.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
