LEARNING THE LYRE PART 4
As a newbie I really had no idea what to expect when my lyre finally arrived. I gently unpacked to discover the lyre was in it’s carrying case. Surprise! I unzipped the black backpack like case, with the “Donner” name on the external pocket, to reveal my instrument. It was an exciting day!
What was included:
A UUSER MANUAL- It is not newbie friendly. Perhaps this is the standard for musical instruments, but then again, this is one of the reasons why I am sharing my experiences.
TWO PICS – You know, the thing you can use to pluck the strings instead of your fingers
A POLISHING CLOTH– I assumed for cleaning the instrument
16 STRINGS metal (not nylon)
TUNING WRENCH
The Aklot, another company that sells lyers also includes a PICKUP. an adapter that can be attached to your amplifier, that is all I know about it but after watching some reviews, experienced musicians like it.

I learned, after I had started exploring my instrument: allowing the lyre to acclimate to the new environment is helpful and will make tuning easier. It never occurred to me that the change in temperatures from the point of origin to the destination would affect the instrument. I would suggest: unpacking the lyre and letting it rest while you review these two videos while you wait.
