LEARNING TO PLAY THE LYRE PART 8
Today (November 15) I had a mani-pedi by a paid professional, my fingernails were not long but they were long enough to interfere with my playing. Do you need to clip your nails? N, some people use their fingernails to strike each note. There is a difference in the sound when I strike a note with my finger tip verses my finger nail.
After playing for four weeks I am promoting myself to beginner no longer a novice.
As a beginner I need to focus on:
- My physical body position, how I sit.
- I need to decide how I am going to hold the lyre, understanding that I will learn how to play chords in the future.
- Reading music better
- Finger postioning
I am committed to practicing 30 minutes a day five days a week.
The following are two videos that gave me a general idea of what to do.
