FORGIVE

Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV)
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

It is written, if we don’t forgive God does not forgive us. If He does not forgive us: What does that mean? It means we are not right with Him, we are unrighteous. Unrighteous saints do not get their prayers answered.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

There is another side to unforgiveness and that is more noticeable, it is the physical health of those who live in unforgiveness. I am not a health professional, however, I have noticed that individuals who forgive those who trespass against them (wrong them), have greater peace thus less medical issues. It seems that unforgiveness is stressful.
Psalm 25:16-18 (KJV)
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

Psalm 86:5-7 (KJV)
5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
6 Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

Psalm 25, was a psalm written by David. David wrote: “Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.” He recognized the need for God to forgive him so that he would have peace. And again David sought Father God in psalm 86: “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive…”, David did not have Jesus but we do. It is our Lord and Saviour who has declared: “if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”.
Unlike David, you cannot go directly to the Father and beg for forgiveness. There are no bulls to sacrifice, lambs to offer up or even doves to present before Father God, we go to Him in the name of Jesus. PERIOD!
Now, forgiving does not mean that you have to resume relationships with the person that wronged you. Many people say: “I will forgive but I will never forget”, I say that is the wrong attitude, forget what the person did not the lesson learned.
Example: I learned to evaluate a man based on God’s word and not his. “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” (Romans 3:4 KJV) Men will lie, thus if his words and actions line up with what is in the Bible then he might be the one. (Yes, that means no intimacy before marriage!) I forgave my first husband for his trespasses against me but I have no intentions of ever seeing him again, the one time I did see him post divorce, I told him “I forgive you.” He rejected my forgiveness but that is between him and the god that he serves, I have peace and I am blessed!
My friend, Lynette Peters, once quoted this Scripture to me;
Proverbs 25:21-22 (KJV)
21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.
It is the true power of forgiveness: when you let it go God takes care of it! Let it go my sisters, let it go my brothers. Forgive, forget and move on. BLESSINGS.
