This past year I have been accused of judging people and not liking Black people, these are false accusations. Over the years, of listening to people, watching their actions and asking questions, I have concluded that not everyone has a personal relationship with God, what many people have is a church attendance / activity record. Many Christians have doubts about Scripture, I talk to people about their doubts. I don’t give Black people a pass, a reason for not doing their best, because people don’t like them, especially if these individuals are Christian. I correct my attitude and behavior when I am out of line with the will of God and I share my thoughts with other people. I love people and I want them to spend eternity in heaven.
Isaiah 55:6 (KJV)
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
What I have learned in my faith journey is that God will meet you where you are. The Bible is His way of teaching us His will. In addition to the written word God will put people in your path to help you learn, but you have to be careful not everyone will guide you in the right direction.
Philippians 2:12-13 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
When you die, you do not enter heaven based on what a church leader, a family member or a friend told you. You avoid hell based on your personal relationship with God. God does not send anyone to hell, people go because they decided not to allow Jesus to be Lord of their life.
It is your responsibility to make sure your relationship is with God and not man. One of my favorite Pastors often said: “If you sit in a church for a year and have not changed, you are in the wrong church”. He also said: “If I ever preach something that goes against what is written in the Bible, talk to me about it and if I don’t correct myself leave the church”. Sadly, there are a lot of false teachings today which is why it is important to read the word of God for yourself. plying the words to your own life.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Salvation is being rescued from the consequences of sin. The things that you do, works: tithing, church attendance, your education, nor your volunteer work in the church will get you into heaven. Most people who refer to themselves as Christian live according to the world and not His word, they validate their belief based on what was told them. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you live according to what is written in the Bible not what you think.
James 2:17-20 (KJV)
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
I am not judging anyone, believe what you want to believe. I choose to believe what is written in Scripture and I have decided to share what I have learned with people who will listen. Jesus is my Lord and Savior, AMEN.
