WHO CARES WHAT THE PASTOR DID?

I have reached a point in my faith walk in which I don’t care about how much a church leader has or does not have, nor do I care about a Pastor stepping down because of sin. I began to stop caring years ago when I realized they were not teaching the Word of God but an ideology that used Bible verses to manipulate the hearer into giving money. No matter how bad or how great the church leader is he (or she) can’t get you into heaven or keep you out of hell.

I am a firm believer in reading the Bible, repeatedly. It has been more than 3 years, 5 I think, that I began evaluating what I have been taught with what the word of God says. I have learned that most of what I was taught was lie. The lies may have not been intentional, out of tradition that has never been validated, but it was presented for generations as a biblical truth.

I enjoy expository style preaching / teaching. That is the Pastor reads the Bible and expounds on it, he gives more details, context, to what is written. I don’t appreciate, or care for emotional or dramatic sermons in which the speaker expects attendees to applaud, shout, dance or respond in some other over zealous fashion. There are men who preach the word of God in a fashion that assist in my growing as a Believer.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

My focus, as a Believer is to do what God has called me to do. The Bible has been made available to me for: critique, correction, and direction so that I will live a life according to God’s will. I do not give my money to church leaders who challenge me to give so that I will be blessed, that is not what the Word of God directs me. I do not need to know which Pastor committed what sin.

I have been ignoring YouTube post that talk about church leaders transgressions, or their extravagant lifestyles. I don’t go to church to be entertained, one of the reasons I have yet to find a church to plant myself in. When I read my Bible, King James Version, I see how God deals with men and women who behave against His will. I can pray for these individuals but I do not need to watch videos, which borders on gossip, of their behavior.
It is time for church leaders to start teaching / preaching God’s word as is. It is time for those who refer to themselves as Christian to read the Bible repeatedly, that means read from Genesis to Revelation and then read it again, and again, and again, until Jesus comes.

2 Corinthians 4:5 (KJV)
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

2 Timothy 4:2-5 (KJV)
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
