OBEDIENCE: A study of God’s word

I just finished reading the book of Psalms,it took me 2 1/2 months to do so. I did that in conjunction with Chuck Missler’s lecture on the book of Psalm. (see video #! of 24 below)

I am now going to do a topical study: Obedience. I looked up all the Bible verses that use the term obey or obedience When I looked up it’s meaning I was caught off guard.

Genesis 27:8 (KJV)
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.

I was thinking the command was to do something, and at some point it requires such but what Rebekah was telling Jacob in Genesis 27:8 was to listen to what she says.

John 10:3-5, 26-28 (KJV)
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The question is who am I listening to? I believe I am listening to the Holy Spirit. As I begin this journey I have decided to take you along with me.
