Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Luke 6:45-46 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
There is a direct relationship between what you speak and what you do; your behavior reveals your heart. Individuals who identify as Christian believe they are righteous. Unfortunately, many individuals have different personalities depending on the environment; work, church, home and or social.
A person who has accepted Jesus as Lord of their lives should- SHOULD- evaluate his or her life daily, if their desire is to grow to maturity spiritually. (The Apostle Paul declared” “I die daily”. – 1 Corinthians 15:31); I would suggest that what we speak is often the first insight we have in self-evaluation. It is written: “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” therefore, if you listen to what you are saying you can determine what area’s of your life need correcting. (Matthew 12:24, Luke 6:45)
Everyday Delilah pressured Samson to reveal his secret but he knew he should not tell her. Samson finally he gave in and spoke what should not have been spoken, this lead to his death.
Judges 16:16 (KJV)
16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
We pray to God for help when we have troubles but often He is not moving fas enough for us. Some grow impatient and give in to the temptation and then are bound and subject to the ways of Satan.
Psalm 13:2 (KJV)
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
Psalm 42:10 (KJV)
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
Psalm 56:1 (KJV)
1 Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
God has given us protective gear, Armour, that we are to put on every day ((Ephesians 6:11). It is also necessary to protect our heart.
Proverbs 4:23-27 (KJV)
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Too many people who identify as Christian fall in love with wolves poorly dressed in sheep’s clothing. These individuals speak words of happiness and pleasure while ignoring the commandments of God. This world is in a state of confusion, God is not the author of confusion (! Corinthians 14:33). The marketing strategies of Satan is to tell people they are not satisfied and the key to happiness and pleasure is by getting more stuff. Because these people want to give stuff there are those who choose to take it and churches that preach messages that justify the acceptance of things “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” It is important that all Christ followers read the Bible asking God the Father for understanding.
You cannot go to heaven or avoid hell because of what your church leader said or even your political leaders have declared. To have Jesus as Lord of your life means: The words of your mouth which reflects that meditation of your heart are acceptable to God and your steps are ordered by Him not them.
