I am beginning to appreciate God’s time, not timing.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
I have a purpose from Him and I have desires that are personal- God knows. I can’t rush God.
Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
I am not God and He is not me; He is God all by himself. He is the Creator of all things! My purpose is do do those things that please Him.
Luke 1:37-38 (KJV)
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
We forget this, Christians. We forget that it is not about what “I want” but what He wills. I, we, should not be pursuing what I, we, deserve but what He has commanded that we do.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
My priorities often get out of wack! I want to sew, embroider, read, even visit my elder but, there are times when God wants me to stay home and listen.
Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10 is a verse that is familiar with most Believers. What does being still mean? For me it means don’t do what I want to do or do what God wants me to do when I think the time is right. Be still means: Don’t move my lips! I don’t have to: give advice, share my opinion or correct people who are wrong.
I am learning to wait on the Lord and not be anxious about what might or might not happen. Many churches don’t teach people how to wait. I even wait on my giving! I give when the Spirit of the Lord tells what to give and to who; it is not always money.
It is not always easy to wait on the Lord but it is truly worth it!
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
