I can’t stop thinking about God, His ways are continually in my thoughts. Even when I transgress (sin) my mind thinks of Him, I cannot forget about Him. Am I a “Jesus Freak”? Am I “so heavenly minded that I am no earthly good”? Many people I know think: “It doesn’t take all of that!” Maybe that is why I spend so much time by myself.
I am at a point in my life in which I intentionally avoid most people including family because what they believe and what I believe conflict. Mentally, I have found myself regressing to the old me, the one they are comfortable with, it is difficult to not digress. The Apostle Paul said it this way:
Romans 7:22-24 (KJV)
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
And James said: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 KJV)
Am I saying that my friends and family are demonic? NO!
I resist those “things” that are not in Christ by separating myself from people who are more worldly focused than God centered.
Example: The use of profanity. I try not to use any profane words. Most of my siblings have incorporated profanity in their list of vocabulary words. And though I don’t use the “F” bomb or the “B” word, other words may come out of my mouth if I am around them long enough.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Many of my “friends” have graduated from earth to eternity, when they were a phone call away, we could spend hours talking about a verse in the Bible or just giving God glory. I really don’t have much in common with most people.
Does that make me a Jesus Freak, or so heavenly minded I am not earthly good? I like to think it makes me a daughter of Father God. I intentionally make YHWH a priority.
