I admit to following Jesus to the extent that I convict myself when I behave less than the biblical standards that are written in Scripture. I understand that there is no such thing as the perfect person but I can still work on perfecting me.
Romans 5:12 (KJV)
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Unfortunately, to many “churches” have manipulated their way out of the Church, the body of Christ, and have become their own entity.
Ephesians 4:11-14 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
I believe the Word and I do not believe the flesh. Read Romans chapter 8!
Romans 8:13-14 (KJV)
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
As long as I am in my home the lifestyle struggles, though present, are not as difficult. When I interact with people, even “Christians” I find conflict, difficulties and blatant ungodliness. Daily I must decide to follow Jesus, to live a God centered life. I have decided to intentionally live a God centered life, even though it may offend family, I don’t have “friends” who don’t love the Lord more than this world.
