Years ago, when I was raising children, I heard and adhered to: discipline your children or the law will. As a child I was disciplined and as a parent my children had consequences to their behavior. Today parents don’t want to accept responsibility for their behavior and they make excuses for their children’s behavior.
In this video a young male suffers the consequences of his behavior and someone who was sitting in the courtroom, presumably a family member or friend, became upset. What I see, to often, is people expecting mercy when individuals of color commit crimes and cry racism when things don’t go their way.
I share this video because I have seen the data. In low income Black communities, not all, there is a lifestyle that blames White people for less than desirable social status even though it is the result of poor education and the lack of personal responsibility.
You cannot combat irresponsibility with blaming other people or government programs. The solution to improving ones’ lifestyle is to assume personal responsibility for behavior. Learn as much as you can, work as hard as you can and appreciate where you are until you can do better, take care of your stuff.
This young man received 25 years for terrorizing a worker(s) during a robbery, he did not receive mercy from the court because he did not show mercy towards the victim and there are laws that reveal the consequences of specific behaviors.
Why did he or the people he knew think he should receive leniency? Is it because his pigment gives him a “have mercy I am a victim of White racism” card?
As a Christian, Scripture teaches: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 KJV) That means children should learn obediences. Irresponsibility is a direct result in not obeying the rules or guidelines. Adults are not obeying the rules of the land or that of God, not just Black people I have seen videos with White individuals having similar issues,
